What a wonderful collection of exhibitions. The Studio School exhibition of Lachaise is particularly interesting in that Greenwich Village was Lachaise's home from 1912 until he died in 1935. He lived and kept studios on Washington Square, 8th street and Washington Mews. He also stayed in many of the grand old hotels such as The Brevoort, The Grosvenor and One Fifth Avenue. You will find drawings on an array of old hotel stationary, featuring a very intimate drawing on the quality stockof One Fifth Avenue. Piri is right that while Isabel, Lachaise's muse model and wife, was the model for some of these drawings, she only indirectly inspired his numerous interpretations of the Burlesque which do "stretch the boundaries of reality in a most entertaining way."
